Martyne White
Martyne is our treasured accompanist who joined Grassington Singers in 2011. He is very much valued by us for his versatility, reliability and unflappability! And he’s a lovely chap! Equally at home with Baroque or Bohemian Rhapsody, he plays all our choices with fluidity and sensitivity.
Martyne’s musical life goes back to 1967 when he played for Nestor Entertainers in Hull. Subsequently he has been much sought after and has played for several amateur organisations including Aireborough Gilbert and Sullivan Society, Grassington Players Music Hall, St Mary’s Youth Theatre and most recently Aireborough Voices and Castaways Community Choir.
However, there are many keys to Martyne’s keyboard. As well as accompanying on the piano, the is also an accomplished church organist beginning his career at Nestor Grove Methodist church in Hull and going on to various churches in Hull and Leeds. His latest position is at All Saints, Barwick in Elmete.
