Mary Wilkinson - A tribute

We announce with sadness that our sole remaining founder member, Mary Wilkinson has decided to retire from singing with us.

Mary, along with like-minded musicians, thought it would be nice to get together for informal singing for pleasure back in 1980. Grassington Singers was born!

Over the years much pleasure has been had, and the Singers have gone from strength to strength performing regularly before very well attended audiences. Throughout the years, Mary has held Grassington Singers close to her heart and has served us unstintingly, both as chair and vice-chair, providing both wisdom and props for our more lighthearted pieces.

Mary is the epitome of community spirit embodied in a person. As well as giving her time to Grassington Singers she has been instrumental in many other projects and enterprises in Grassington. In keeping with her commendable selflessness, Mary will continue to support Grassington Singers, we hope for many years to come.
